THE ORIGINS CUP

The Origins Cup is a new programme for the 2021&2022 season which compliments the National Team talent identification pathway. The 3 game series pits the top 40 players in Ghana against each other.

Players are selected based on their performances during the Club Championships, then taken into a performance environment to prepare for each game. The 2 teams (Giwa-McNeil XIII and Safi XIII) pay homage to the great work and support for Ghana Rugby League carried out by The MEA's Regional Director - Remond Safi and The Giwa-McNeil family. 

The third Origin game will culminate in both; one team being crowned the inaugural 2021 Origin Cup Champions, and also the selection for the Ghana National Rugby League team.
